So I have started a new medication. It is called paxil, and it is a SSRI anti-depressant. I am currently taking 20mg before bedtime. Luckily, I was able to get a generic version of this medicine to save some cash. After the insurance was deducted from the medication cost, I payed 15.00! That's a great deal.
I was prescribed this medicine for my illness yesterday. I truly believe that it will help with my mood. I know from experience that I cannot expect to feel better overnight. It should take 2-4 weeks to begin a mood lift. Since I have been down in the dumps, moodwise, I can't wait to even feel the slightest better.
Currently, the only side effect is dry mouth. I will report any other side effects as they happen. Does anyone out there in the blogosphere have experience with Paxil? I would love to hear your comments on it, both good and bad.
I have to get ready for therapy. I will write more soon.

I admire your bravery to go ahead and do the hospital when you knew you needed help. That's gotta be a tough decision.
Haven't done Paxil; only Celexa, Buspar, and Ativan. My Celexa symptoms are similar to what you posted about other SSRIs, but I've found a dose that seems to work without the side effects being too overwhelming. (I also have the PTSD, Depression and the OCD, GAD, Phobia and Panic disorders, It's been about 15 yrs since I started treatment.)
Keep on writing. People are reading. I know the blogging I'm doing has helped me a lot in getting my thoughts in order, even if just for myself.
